ZERO FUCKS - EMBROIDERED STREET ART

Inspired by the Spanish artist Raquel Rodrigo who brings her cross stitch skills from traditional red roses to the streets of Spain, URABN REPUBLIC wanted to create something similar in Ghent. Cross stitch techniques, colourful threads or just plastic cups to bring some excitement and joy. 8th of March inspired us to do something special.

#choosetochallenge is the theme of International Women's Day 2021. A challenged world is an alert world. Each of us is responsible for our own thoughts and actions - all day, every day. We can all choose to challenge gender bias and inequality. We can all choose to seek out and celebrate women's achievements. ZERO FUCKS is a feminine take on street art and a statement piece that breathes the theme #choosetochallenge.

ZERO FUCKS is an embroidery - girly, huh! - carefully sewn to inspire women to free themselves from the fear and guilt that comes with saying no to the expectations of society and those around them. It is more than 100 hours of handiwork, 10 meters of wire and 600 meters of iron wire as a refusal to let women's self-confidence erode and eradicate.

ZERO FUCKS is not only a statement, but also a temporary local platform for female entrepreneurs to share their events and actions in honor of International Women's Day.

Visit the ZERO FUCKS website and be surprised by all the feminine power that Ghent has and beyond!
